A Berlin company since 1925
The company was founded in 1925 by Georg Kläke under the name Berliner Verchromung GmbH
at Oranienstraße 189 in 10999 Berlin-Kreuzberg.
In 1995, Berliner Verchromung Hans Kläke GmbH acquired the company Metallveredelung Auermann & Gesse
at Köpenicker Straße 147, 10997 Berlin-Kreuzberg. On 1 April 1995 it was entered in the Berlin-Charlottenburg
commercial register under the name OTEK Oberflächentechnik Kläke GmbH.
In 1998 and 1999 the Berlin plants were comprehensively refurbished, renewed and restructured in terms of
both buildings and equipment. The aim was to add series production on new and modernised fully and
semi-automatic lines for the electroplated finishing of sheet-metal, turned, milled, pressed, drawn and
stamped parts as well as fittings and housing components.
On 1 October 1999 the two Berlin companies merged. Berliner Verchromung Hans Kläke GmbH ceased to exist
and its single-part production was transferred into the range of services of OTEK Oberflächentechnik Kläke GmbH.
The works today

The focus here is on the electroplating of large components: valves, ball valves, plugs, pistons and shafts,
as well as the refurbishment and finishing of metal parts for indoor and outdoor use – such as façade
components – and of historical metal objects.
